When visiting Alton Towers especially for the first time its always best to stay overnight and get two days in the park. This way you get a second chance to do your
favorite rides from the first day again, and you can avoid some of the queues by leaving some of the big rides until the second day and get round the smaller rides when
it gets busy.
Alton Towers have two on site hotels "The Alton Towers Hotel" and "Splash Landings Hotel", I've been in either so I can't say what there like but here's some pics of them.
