Katanga Canyon
In 1992 what was once known as Aqua Land was split into 4 different areas, one of which was called Katanga Canyon. Katanga Canyon took from Aqua Land a ride known as Grand Canyon Rapids which when built was one of the parks largest investments. This ride became the basis on Katanga Canyon with its shops, restaurants and new ride 'The Runaway Mine Train' being placed in the centre of it. The ride also received new themeing to match the new African Village theme of the area.
The area is one of the best looking places of the park, which truly comes alive with its greenery when the sun shines. Its two circuit rides have also been incorporated in the whole area remarkably, as they inter-wine with each other as well as different parts of the land rather than being plonked down in there own space and being fenced off.
